Corrections Policy

How to report a factual, attribution or rights concern about an STN record.

Report a concern

Use the public STN contact page. Include the canonical STN page URL, the title, the exact disputed statement or image, and a primary source explaining the concern. Identify whether the issue concerns a fact, attribution, date, company identity or media rights. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, classified information or unnecessary personal data.

Review before change

A correction request is evidence for review, not automatic authorization to change a public record. An authorized reviewer must assess the source and the affected claim. Existing publication, source-rights and access controls continue to apply to a correction.

Correction standard

A substantive correction should identify what changed and when, and should distinguish a corrected fact from a newly developing fact. A rights or verification failure may require restriction or removal rather than replacement with an unsupported claim. This policy does not promise an automated resolution or a response time that the service has not verified.

Registry and index records

An identity correction or verified company claim does not change index membership, weights or methodology. Published index information and any later correction remain subject to the separate index governance process.
