About this video
The National Guard delivered for the nation throughout October, strengthening warfighting readiness, supporting homeland operations, and reinforcing joint-service partnerships. Guard members returned from deployments to the Middle East, while Soldiers from 10 states participated in the first National Guard-led event to conduct all three Army expert badge assessments simultaneously. At home, National Guardsmen prepped for and responded to Hurricane Isaias, conducting search and rescue operations, distributing essential supplies and clearing roads. The North Carolina Army National Guard reactivated an infantry battalion after two decades, strengthening readiness for state and federal missions. Maine National Guard Soldiers trained alongside the U.S. Coast Guard, conducting aerial refueling operations with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, enhancing interoperability and joint capabilities. These efforts demonstrate the continued commitment of the National Guard’s 435,000 Soldiers and Airmen to serving their communities, states, and nation.
