About this video

U.S. Air Force service members and civilians participate in the POW/MIA Walk, Run and Vigil Remembrance Ceremony at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, 17-18, September 2026. The 24-hour event began with an opening ceremony featuring remarks from chaplains and retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. David Allwine, a former prisoner of war who shared his experiences. Throughout the vigil, military members and civilians walked, ran and read the names of prisoners of war and service members missing in action while carrying the POW/MIA flag around the Air Park. The event concluded 18 September with closing remarks from Col. Nicholas R. Ihde, 56th Fighter Wing commander, and retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Vic Peterson, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime Luke AFB community advocate. The ceremony honored former prisoners of war, remembered those still missing and reaffirmed the commitment to never forget their service and sacrifice. (U.S. Air Force video by Daniel Eby)
