Keith Rudie, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District Emergency Management, discusses repairs to the Cockerham Levee along the Skagit River in Skagit County, Washington. Following a major rain event in December that breached and overtopped portions of the levee, Seattle District returned to complete an engineered repair. The work included placement of riprap, graded material and a crushed-rock base course to restore the levee and maintain access during flood season. The repair was supported by Seattle District personnel, contractors and local diking districts. (U.S. Army video by Travis England)
