About this video
D. Lee Forsgren, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Civil Works), visited the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District’s Cedar River Left Bank Rehabilitation Project in Renton, Washington. Following record flooding in December 2025, Seattle District rehabilitated approximately one-half mile of the left bank that had been eroded and undercut by floodwaters. Working with contractors, the City of Renton, state agencies and tribal partners, the team completed the project in less than nine months. The project supports protection of nearby community facilities and critical infrastructure along the Cedar River. (U.S. Army video by Travis England)
