About this video

U.S. Airman assigned to the 647th Security Forces Squadron (SFS) conduct a flight test of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) drone during Exercise KIMCHIBADGER Oct. 9, 2026 on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The 647th SFS supported a Department of War field demonstration, designated KIMCHIBADGER, evaluating distributed artificial intelligence capabilities designed to process tactical sensor data at the edge and maintain decision advantage in communication-denied environments. KIMCHIBADGER examined how tactical AI workloads transition across distributed compute tiers; including on-body devices, tactical forward servers and secure cloud services. Employing multiple UAS, the team simulated a non-kinetic reconnaissance mission to assess how sensor data can be analyzed locally near the operator when satellite reach-back is lost.
