About this video
An MQ-25A Stingray carrier-based unmanned aerial refueling aircraft conducts a test flight over MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah, Illinois, Oct. 6, 2023. During the four-hour flight, the Stingray reached altitudes exceeding 20,000 feet and speeds greater than 200 knots while executing its first automatic landing gear retraction, a milestone previously commanded manually by air vehicle pilots. The test program expands the MQ-25A's operational envelope and reliability, advancing the U.S. Navy’s fielding of an unmanned tanker capability to extend the reach, flexibility, and combat lethality of the carrier air wing.
