About this video

U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Patrick Johnston, assigned to 95th Combat Engineer Company - Infantry, 130th Engineer Brigade, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, explains the Specialized Deliberate Breach Range on Schofield Barracks. The exercise honed Soldiers' skills in mechanical, thermal, and advanced thermal breaching over two days. They utilized concrete saws for vertical and horizontal cuts, sledgehammers to knock out loose concrete, and Quickie-saws to cut rebar. Soldiers practiced standard cutting, using drag and gouge techniques to cut thick steel plates for thermal breaching. For Advanced thermal breaching, they used pendulum cuts and vantage point cutting on top of standard cutting to access and breach the rear plate.
