A new chapter of sustainer leadership begins. The 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command welcomed its new commanding officer during a change of command ceremony on Sept. 30 at Camp Walker, Daegu, Republic of Korea. U.S Army Lt. Gen. Joseph Hilbert, commanding general of Eighth Army, presided over the ceremony in which Brig. Gen. Jin Pak relinquished command of the 19th ESC to Col. Ricardo Jones. Pak, who assumed command in June 2024, led the 19th ESC through more than two years of strengthening combined logistics, advancing sustainment capabilities and ensuring forces across the Korean Peninsula remained ready to respond when called upon. His time in command also marked a return to an organization he previously served with as commander of the 25th Transportation Battalion. Jones brings more than two decades of logistics and sustainment experience to the command. He most recently served as executive officer to the commanding general of U.S. Army Materiel Command and previously commanded the 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade and 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. As leadership changes hands, the 19th ESC remains committed to sustaining Eighth Army, strengthening the ROK-U.S. Alliance and maintaining readiness across the Korean Theater of Operations. Please join us in thanking Brig. Gen. Pak and his family for their service to the Sustainer team and welcoming Col. Jones and his family to the 19th ESC.
