About this video

The National Guard delivered for the nation throughout September, supporting overseas operations, responding to emergencies at home, and strengthening partnerships around the world. Guard members returned from and mobilized for deployments to the Middle East, including the first Army National Guard brigade to mobilize as a mobile brigade combat team. At home, Guard members from multiple states responded to wildfires in Arkansas and supported response and recovery efforts following Hurricane Lowell in Hawaii. Overseas, Montana National Guard members trained alongside Kyrgyz military and civilian partners during Exercise Ak Shumkar II, strengthening a 30-year partnership. Across the country, Guard members also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, honoring those who lost their lives and the service that followed. These efforts demonstrate the continued commitment of the National Guard’s 435,000 Soldiers and Airmen service to their communities, states, and nation.
