About this video
U.S. Air Force, Navy and Japan Self-Defense Forces military members host the annual Misawa Air Fest 2026 open house event for Japanese families and international visitors Sept. 20, 2026, at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The annual open house provided visitors an opportunity to meet with U.S. and Japanese service members while exploring aircraft, equipment and military capabilities through static displays, specialized job demonstrations and aerial performances. By giving the public a firsthand look at the people and capabilities responsible for national defense, Air Fest strengthens understanding between military members and the communities that help make Misawa a home for service members and their families. The event also showcased the close cooperation between U.S. and Japanese forces, reinforcing the trust and shared commitment to collective defense that sustains the U.S.-Japan alliance and contributes to stability in the Pacific theater.
