NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. (Sept. 11, 2026) — Col. Jeremy Meartz, commander of the 166th Airlift Wing, recognizes Patriot Day and honors the lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Twenty-five years later, the 166th Airlift Wing remembers those who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as well as the families, first responders and Americans whose lives were changed that day.
Patriot Day provides an opportunity to remember those we lost, honor their memory and reflect on the strength and unity that followed.
“We remember. We honor. We remain ready.”
