About this video

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is staging pumping equipment at Blue Mountain Lake following a planned drawdown conducted with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The drawdown, designed to improve aquatic habitat and reduce invasive vegetation, has lowered the lake about 13 feet below its normal conservation pool. With dry conditions persisting, the pumps are in place to ensure downstream flows continue if normal releases become insufficient, protecting both habitat goals and community water supplies.
