About this video
Robert Flores, 502d Security Forces Squadron law enforcement trainer, leads close-quarters combative training for 502d SFS personnel at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, July 22, 2026. The training teaches Security Forces personnel defensive tactics and control techniques, including the front-mount scissor sweep escape maneuver, which allows an individual to escape an opponent's control from the mount position, reverse the engagement and regain a position of advantage. Through hands-on instruction and repeated practice of defensive maneuvers, Security Forces personnel develop the skills needed to protect themselves, control physical confrontations and respond effectively during close-quarters encounters.
